Our Story
Finding the dancer in You..
Naatyanjali School of Dance started in 2018 by Rugmini Sreejith with a
mission to promote and practice the classical artform in its authentic way.
Naatyanjali literally means “offering dance” and that has always the aim
since the initiation of the school. The School offers classes for
Bharatanatyam and Mohiniyattom.
The students of Naatyanjali learn various aspects and nuances of
Bharatanatyam and Mohiniyattom with emphasis given to purity and rich
traditions of the ancient dance form.
Naatyanjali conducts their First Annual day in March 2020. The students
of Naatyanjali performs various stages in Philadelphia and Newjersey. The
School first started in Philadelphia, later in early 2023, Rugmini and family
moved to Charlotte and settled .Naatyanjali offers both online and in person
classes. Apart from the regular classes ,Rugmini has done lot of her own
Choreographies for different dance for some Associations..
Meet The Founder
Express Yourself through Dance..
Rugmini Sreejith, an accomplished teacher and performer, brings
her own unique individuality to teaching and choreography. She hails from
kerala,Southern part of India. She started learning Bharatanatyam at very
young age with Guru Nayanam Biju and later continued with Guru Resmi
Sanal (Nrithambari School of dance).
As a post graduate in Science field, her preference was to become
an artist. So she continue her passion as Profession. She strongly believe
that if your Dreams are Strong and focused ,You will achieve it one day..
That’s how she started Naatyanjali with very few students.Now she had lot
of students not only in USA but from India and Dubai.
She Strongly believes in continuous learning to become a great
artist and to improve techniques and abhinaya. Now she is learning under
two renowned in Bharatanatyam and Mohiniyattom..Guru Acharya Nirmala
Nagarajan from Kalakshetra and Guru Kalamandalam Dhanusha Sanyal
(Guinness record holder for presenting the largest Mohiniyattom
performance).
